Corten steel is also known as weathering steel. Duration of life is quite long because the first corrosion layer stops any further deterioration by rust. The Corten steel ring fit inrusty colour perfect with the cast iron firebowls when rusted. 

If you have a porous surface where you want to place your fire bowl, we advise a stainless steel ring, so you have less chance of a rust print on your floor.
